The Last Weekend in Virginia II

Well, I couldn't get the rest of the pictures from Sunday on the other blog so here goes. We went to the Olive Garden for the Last Supper together in Virginia. Sammy as always entertained us while we waited.

Jarred also helped with the entertainment playing with Sammy and describing the things in his earlobs to us. Jarred will be heading to Texas tomorrow night.

Once we were seated it only took an hour to get our appetizer. I think Anthony was getting ready to go beat on somebody for us. :o)

Here's a great picture of Aunt Tracey and Sammy!

The whole gang - one last time before the moving company shows up in the morning and hauls it all away to St Augustine Florida.

Goodluck on your move to beautiful St Augustine.

We'll Miss You

The Last Weekend Together in Virginia

We'll this weekend we started off with a cookout Friday night where we could invite some friends to give Jenny and Robb a proper send off to Florida.

Anthony, Robb, Jenny, baby Sparky, Little Sammy, Cori & Mark pose for a group picture.

Sammy wasn't in a very good mood because she knew she would have to leave Aunt Cori and Uncle Mark.

Anthony was just gritting his teeth so he wouldn't have an emotional break down in front of everyone.

Mark & I will definitely miss hanging out w/ Jenny & Robb. I guess we will have to make a trip down to Florida to see baby Sparky in February. :o)

Beach Weekend

Well, I need to catch up on my blog. Things have been really busy between work, keeping up with yard work and other house chores and trying to spend time with Jenny and Robb before their move to Florida. Last weekend we had a beach weekend.

On Saturday, Mark and I helped Jenny and Robb move a lawn mower, generator and power washer to their storage unit. Then we headed to the beach for a picnic. After picking up some prosciutto, mozarella balls , fresh bread and awesome coconut cake at a little italian market, we picked up a chicken fettacine pizza. The beach was wonderful!!! We sat on a blanket eating our dinner and listening to a band play on one of the local stages. Little Sammy wanted to dance with Uncle Mark all night. (It figures this was the one time I didn't take my camera :o(

Jenny and Robb couldn't join us on Sunday afternoon for beachtime so Mark and I had to go on our own. After we enjoyed the beach for the afternoon, Mark and I headed over to the Preffer's for the evening. We had a good time just relaxing, playing with Sammy and going to the Outback Steakhouse for dinner.

More details to come later. :o)

Concert Weekend II

Sunday Night we went to the Kenny Chesney Sold Out Concert which was the best show I've seen all summer. It was also the most crowded I've ever seen it. It was so packed that if you went to get food it was very difficult to find your spot again. Robb got lost twice doing food runs.

We had a great time once we all found each other in the sea of people. Sammy was the entertainment until the show started.

It was a beautiful night for a concert especially considering it's mid-August and could be 90 degrees & 99% humidity. We enjoyed a balmy 75 degrees.

Dierks Bentley opened for Kenny Chesney and Uncle Kracker made a surprise guest appearance doing a couple of duets including the "Sun goes Down" & "Follow Me"

It's amazing how kids can sleep just about anywhere. Sammy fell asleep only to wake up to her favorite "vacation" song - 'No shirt, No shoes, No problem' which I had put on my St. Martin video of our vacation last year.

I would highly recommend Kenny's concert if you get a chance to go to one. The weekend ended way to soon but at least I got to hang out with good friends and make some good memories.

What does Hootie & the Blowfish, Dierks Bently, Kenny Chesney & Uncle Kracker Have in Common?

I got to see all of them at concerts this weekend. Mark, Jenny, Robb, Sammy and I started the weekend with Hootie & the Blowfish on Friday night. Here are some pictures from the Hootie Concert. It was a little breezy but everyone had a great time. Here are some picts of Mark & Cori with little Sammy.

Jenny & Robb were just trying to chill and get a little R&R. Especially after a week of explaining to Sammy that she was going to have a baby brother or sister and "not" a baby puppy as my friend Amy had brought up in jest.

We had a great time and looked forward to our Sunday night concert. See the next post for pictures from that excursion.

Adventures in Tubing

Tammy's nephew's couldn't get enough of being pulled on the tube behind her boat. Even her sister Tawnya & Cousin Ronnie were willing to give it a try. This is the "before" picture.

At least they are still smiling in this picture. I won't post the other non-flatterying shots because Tawnya would hunt me down and hurt me. :o)

Justin & Jarred took a beating but loved every minute of it. I think they were trying to go parasailing in this picture. Those are Jarred's legs and Justin's little head peaking out.

Remarkable they both landed and didn't get bounce out.

Justin didn't fair as well in one of the other passes. He said as he was falling out he told Jarred "Goodbye, Brother"

Then he proceeded to do cartwheels across the water. He's a tough kid he got right back on.

"The Last Resort"

At least that is what Tammy is calling her new lake house. I shot this picture from down by the dock looking up the hill at the back of the house. I love how the glowing lights welcome you yet the shadows of the trees make you feel that you just may be entering a horror flick called...
"The Last Resort"
a Shelton Property

Here is another view during the day.

I never got tired of the view looking down toward the docks and the water.

This is the front of the house. What a wonderful time we all had.

July in Review

Sorry, I haven't kept up this month. I've been really busy. My first 2 blogs covered my trip to Illinois over the 4th of July. It was great to see the whole family together and meet the newest additions. This is me with my newest nephew Benjamin Andrew.

The last week of July was spent at my friend Tammy's house up at Lake Anna which is outside Fredericksburg, VA. Needless to say I wasn't ready to come back and go to work.

I'll work on posting more later. I have some really cool pictures from my lake vacation that I hope to post later today.
